The Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer will take charge of guiding suppliers in validating products to align with customer specifications. This role demands a robust understanding of quality management, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and effective project management skills to facilitate supplier evaluation, qualification, performance monitoring, and development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expertise in manufacturing processes, particularly in machining and secondary operations.
- Act as the technical lead for supplier issue resolution, employing quality methodologies such as 8D, DOE, and FMEA.
- Conduct thorough assessments of suppliers, focusing on their manufacturing capabilities and quality management systems.
- Perform supplier process audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Manage supplier non-conformance issues, offering constructive feedback and developing quality improvement plans.
- Review and analyze supplier quality metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee supplier qualification projects, maintaining regular communication with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on quality-related challenges, actively engaging in failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
- Familiarity with fabrication practices, particularly in structural framing and sheet metal work.
- Proficient in secondary process qualification and laboratory analysis.
- Strong knowledge of measurement tools and CMM operations.
- Experience in supplier assessment, qualification, and audit processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficient in project management and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) programs is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles is desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as ASQ CQA, CQT, or CQE are advantageous.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing, ideally within the semiconductor capital equipment sector.
Work Environment:This role may involve working in various settings, including manufacturing, office, and cleanroom environments. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
