The Senior Internal Communications Strategist will be tasked with crafting and implementing a comprehensive Employer branding strategy for The Ladders. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief People Officer, working across various departments to bring internal communication initiatives from idea to execution. As an experienced leader in Internal Communications, you will ensure that all messaging and materials are precise, high-quality, and consistent with the company's branding objectives.

This role is crucial in defining and promoting The Ladders' employer brand. You will develop a compelling narrative that showcases what makes The Ladders an exceptional workplace. By aligning the employer branding strategy with the company's core mission and values, you will contribute to attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that our employer brand is effectively communicated across all internal and external platforms, including job listings, social media, and the company website. You will work with various teams to collect and share stories that reflect our culture, work environment, employee accomplishments, and opportunities for professional growth. Your aim is to position The Ladders as an employer of choice, recognized for its dedication to its workforce and its positive, inclusive, and motivating workplace culture.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will establish and manage all internal communications and employer branding processes, ensuring they effectively convey our employer brand to both current and prospective employees. You will devise strategies to share essential company information among employees, determine the platforms to be utilized, and create specific channels for project teams. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to established internal communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of an employer branding strategy for The Ladders.
  • Establish and oversee all internal communications and employer branding processes, ensuring effective conveyance of our employer brand.
  • Ensure consistent communication of our employer brand across all internal and external channels, including job postings and social media.
  • Consult with executive leadership to develop scalable communication procedures and policies for various initiatives.
  • Support leadership and functional teams by crafting strategic messaging and programming for effective communications.
  • Approach messaging creatively to develop narratives that reinforce The Ladders as an employer of choice.
  • Keep employees informed about key decisions made during company meetings and communicate leadership's vision clearly.
  • Proactively create Q&A templates to address potential questions and concerns arising from messaging.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions to explore and recommend new communication channels or technologies.
  • Define and measure KPIs related to employer branding and internal communications.
  • Assist in planning and executing internal employee events as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing and strategic communications, with a preference for fintech experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with confidence in engaging across the organization.
  • Proactive self-starter with strong initiative and critical thinking abilities.
  • Editorial mindset focused on understanding audience needs and creating impactful content.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and translate executive priorities into meaningful communication campaigns.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously with outstanding project management skills.
  • Ability to build critical partnerships and influence effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to drive change.
  • Professional understanding of crisis management and communications.
  • Experience working across HR and Marketing functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing preferred.
Success Metrics:

The first 90 days will outline specific, measurable outcomes for success in this role.

First 30 Days:
  • Understand the corporate structure and strategic direction of The Ladders.
  • Meet with key departments to comprehend collaboration processes and workflows.
  • Review existing messaging and feedback to establish benchmarks.
  • Finalize immediate priorities for communication strategies.
First 60 Days:
  • Become familiar with historical brand messaging and tone.
  • Develop an initial corporate narrative based on existing materials.
  • Understand the competitive landscape.
  • Implement action plans for immediate priorities.
  • Gain insight into the 2024 roadmap and goals for both Marketing and HR.
  • Establish initial strategic recommendations for process improvements.
First 90 Days:
  • Create an internal communications playbook.
  • Become the subject matter expert for strategic internal messaging.
  • Develop action plans based on the 2024 roadmap for stakeholder review.
  • Initiate the development of established programs, including quarterly all-hands meetings.
