Position Overview:

The Lead Innovation Strategist (LIS) plays a pivotal role in providing essential project management leadership across our organization, supporting our mission to scale innovative solutions that assist financially vulnerable individuals in achieving financial security and opportunity. With exceptional leadership and project management skills, the LIS will oversee multiple initiatives, collaborating closely with external partners such as employers, workplace benefit providers, financial institutions, and fintech companies. The LIS will lead and support high-performing project teams that are passionate about creating a positive and scalable impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee multiple intricate projects, ensuring timely execution and achievement of defined outcomes.
  • Utilize advanced interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with internal teams and external partners, including employers and financial institutions, to test and assess financial security and wealth-building innovations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, test, and evaluate market-viable innovative tools and products tailored to the needs of financially vulnerable consumers and the business objectives of external partners.
  • Assist in the development of research plans and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate the impact of various pilots and interventions with partners.
  • Manage the process of generating and disseminating insights and findings from projects internally and externally to key stakeholders, including industry players, policymakers, and funders through presentations, thought pieces, and publications.
  • Occasionally represent The Ladders at meetings and events, effectively engaging diverse audiences, including employers, financial service industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and community advocates.
  • Employ creative problem-solving skills and collaborate with a results-oriented team to execute projects effectively.
  • Mentor and develop staff to promote skill growth and professional development.
  • Contribute positively to organization-wide strategy and goals through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Required Capabilities:
  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, demonstrating high levels of organization, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through collaboration.
  • Experience in creating high-quality presentations for external partners across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Experience leading qualitative and quantitative research efforts and translating findings for diverse audiences through briefs or reports.
