Job Summary

We are looking for a talented professional to join our team as a Facilities Automation Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building automation systems.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical, plumbing, and controls systems to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, including wiring, architecture, and sequences, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordination: Work closely with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless startup and commissioning of our systems.
  • Installation: Install control components, including actuators, relays, and sensors, and verify that all control-point wiring has been correctly installed and terminated.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose issues or possible causes and determine corrective action to repair systems and/or system components.
  • Software Modification: Analyze and modify control software as necessary to ensure proper HVAC comfort and energy management control.
  • Documentation: Support the production of project-specific As-Built drawings based on initial project construction drawings and field modification mark-ups.
  • Commissioning: Assist in commissioning activities for building automation systems and complete commissioning documentation.
  • Training: Provide site-specific training for owner/operators on the total building control system.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building automation systems and associated components according to service maintenance agreements.
  • System Testing: Test and verify system readings to ensure optimal system operation.
Requirements
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience in facilities automation or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in DDC software and PC experience.
  • Certifications: Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation.
