Sediment Remediation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Sediment Remediation Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our sediment remediation practice, you will play a crucial role in growing our practice while contributing to challenging environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Business development, including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
- Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- Review and manage written document production;
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
- Conduct fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
- Direct multi-disciplinary project teams;
- Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related field (required);
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred);
- Professional registration (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) (preferred);
- At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest marketplace (required);
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams (required);
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients (required);
- Proven leadership skills (required);
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (required);
- Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology (preferred);
- Previous field experience, for example, sediment sampling, porewater sampling, observation of well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and/or other field techniques (preferred);
- Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations (preferred);
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation (preferred);
- Field work and overnight travel may be required;
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required;
- Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
The typical base salary range for this position is $95,865 - $140,870 (Seattle). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees.
