Job Title: Account Specialist

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a highly skilled Account Specialist to join our team. As an Account Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our customers by coordinating and participating in activities to maintain and grow new and existing business across Medicare and Individual lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the New Sales and Account Management team to ensure timely and accurate completion of sales and setup activities.
  • Provide personalized, proactive, preemptive, and reactive customer support and service to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Manage complex transactions, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with various departments and levels of personnel.
  • Identify and address customer technical and non-technical issues, educate customers on Premera's tools and procedures, and coordinate necessary activities.
  • Monitor customer experience, identify potential problems and trends, and work with the Sales Executives or Account Manager to implement effective remedies.
  • Assist with creation and delivery of root cause analysis reports on product or process breakdowns.
  • Ensure producer data submissions are accurate, complete, and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Research and resolve producer and group-level service issues, provide support to others within the team, and provide backup for Account Manager/Sales Executive.
  • Maintain sales systems, handle inbound and outbound calls, and assist with departmental and corporate projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree or four years of work experience in healthcare/insurance industry/customer service.
  • Four years of work experience, including two years in sales, benefit enrollment, or benefit administration, and two years of customer service experience.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain an active Insurance Agent license within 60 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of Premera carrier products, operations, policies, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Experience with Medicare and/or Individual products strongly preferred.
