Position Overview:

Our client is in search of a Director of Industry Programming. This individual will oversee the comprehensive management of the Industry department, ensuring the effective execution of the strategic vision aimed at creating diverse, engaging, and thought-provoking programs and summits featuring high-caliber speakers, panelists, and moderators. The goal is to solidify the company's position as a leading entity in the media landscape. This role also encompasses building a robust community for the organization and the International Council, which includes managing memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships.

  • Compensation: $50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously curate innovative and relevant programming that aligns with emerging trends and newsworthy developments, with a focus on monetization to meet membership and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to orchestrate conferences and business summits for various Industry Programming Events, including Dialogues, Next Big Thing Series, and the International Council Summit.
  • Identify and secure top-tier talent – conduct research, extend invitations, and finalize arrangements with prominent speakers, panelists, and moderators to enhance the prestige and relevance of events.
  • Ensure that organizational goals are met or surpassed, particularly in relation to Sponsors/Partners and Media Council memberships, including recruitment and retention of members and sponsors.
  • Work in partnership with other departments to guarantee an exceptional customer service experience.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of all programming materials, ensuring adherence to scheduling deadlines.
  • Facilitate effective communication, secure necessary approvals, and foster a positive team atmosphere.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments, consistently proposing new programming ideas and collaborative opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships within the media industry.
  • Represent and advocate for the organization at various industry and business events.
  • Utilize social media and cutting-edge technologies to maximize visibility and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Finance team to ensure compliance with revenue targets and budgetary constraints.
  • Act as an ambassador for social media initiatives by actively promoting organizational content within personal networks to enhance community engagement.
  • Participate in and manage additional projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Media Industry Event Programming and management.
  • Possess executive presence and a network of connections, including relationships with C-suite executives within the industry.
  • Established relationships with key players and leaders across the media spectrum, including technology, sports, advertising, television, and interactive entertainment.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing conferences and business summits within budget and on schedule.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current issues and influential figures in the media and communications sector.
  • Strong work ethic with a preference for in-person collaboration in a dynamic office environment.
  • Proven knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and ongoing discussions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities to effectively guide cross-functional teams.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering innovative programming while leveraging various media platforms for monetization.
  • Technologically adept, energetic, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and managerial abilities.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and creative with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
