About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, line cooks, and dishwashers.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, responding to their needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new culinary programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with special events and catering, as needed.
Requirements
  • 2-year certification or degree in Culinary Arts required.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a chef or line cook.
  • ServSafe certification required.
  • Preferred TIPS certification, CPR/AED certification.
  • Basic knife handling and cooking skills.
  • Ability to speak confidently and correctly about Hilton Head Health's nutrition philosophy.
  • Understanding of Hilton Head Health's nutrition philosophy.
  • Ability to work patiently with guests both one on one or in a large group.
  • Customer service and satisfaction.
  • Computer skills; ESHA, Word, Outlook, ability to type and edit recipes.
  • Understanding of kitchen equipment operations.
  • Takes initiative.
