Job Summary
Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly motivated and strategic government affairs practitioner to manage and administer Corning's federal PAC and provide research and meeting preparation assistance to the federal government affairs team.
The Manager will report into the Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs. The position requires less than 15% domestic travel and is based in Washington, D.C. This is not a remote work position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the development, approval, and execution of COREPAC's solicitation plan, PAC member engagement and communications, and disbursement plan;
- Responsible for complying with federal and state campaign finance laws and regulations; including filing state election commission and FEC reports.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape;
- Track and analyze legislative and regulatory policy developments, providing intelligence and insights.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with political fundraisers, consultants, and vendors;
- Represent Corning in trade associations, and with other key stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist Corning Government Affairs leadership team in preparing executive and board-level communications and briefing materials regarding government affairs developments, including regulatory and legislative matters of interest;
- Attend external events, meetings, and conferences; report on legislative and regulatory updates related to Corning's public policy goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years progressive experience working in federal government affairs, including a minimum 2+ years Federal PAC management / administration experience.
- Demonstrated interest in PAC management and public policy.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, effectively articulating complex ideas in a concise and structured manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Highly resourceful team player with demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel and attend evening events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior government service in federal agency or congressional office.
- Prior private sector experience in a Fortune 500 company or trade association.
