Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at St Mary Catholic School. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, including the church, office building, and school building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, emptying trash, and cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Maintain stocked inventory and perform routine maintenance of custodial equipment.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance of equipment, filters, and lighting as needed, and inspect and troubleshoot and/or repair equipment and systems.
  • Perform daily inspections of campus and buildings, including doors and windows, and maintain lawn care, including mowing, trimming, edging, raking, weed control, flower bed maintenance, fertilizing, ball field maintenance, sprinkler maintenance, and keeping parking lots clean.
  • Assist with snow removal, deicing sidewalks and parking lots, and wash windows.
  • Keep pews and kneelers clean and in working order, and maintain janitor's closets, basement, and storage areas, including laundering cleaning rags.
  • Keep hall kitchen and equipment clean, and perform minor painting and deep cleaning of the school in the summer.
  • Clean the gym floor on a weekly basis and wipe down student desk surfaces weekly.
  • Attend staff meetings, parish facilities meetings, and other meetings as necessary, and coordinate with sub-contractors, including snow removal, pest/weed control, and HVAC quarterly maintenance.
  • Obtain bids for projects, major repairs, or equipment replacement, and use power equipment, move equipment and materials throughout the facility as needed.
  • Communicate maintenance and repair issues to the Pastor or Principal, and maintain door and camera security equipment.
Qualification Requirements
  • Knowledge and skill with hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Awareness of safety procedures.
  • Self-starter who can work independently without daily supervision.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Considerable physical activity requires heavy physical work: heavy lifting, pushing, pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, ranging from $18 to $29 per hour, depending on experience, as well as vacation and sick leave, 401(a) and 403(b), and state-paid medical and family leave.
