Highway Maintenance Specialist

As a Highway Maintenance Worker with the Washington State Government, you will be responsible for performing journey-level highway, roadside, infrastructure, and right-of-way maintenance and repair tasks. This includes operating Class A, B, and/or C heavy equipment to maintain state roadways and highways, designing and setting up traffic control operations, and removing dangerous and hazardous debris from roadways.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on highways, roadways, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment to maintain state roadways and highways
- Design and set up traffic control operations
- Remove hazardous debris from roadways
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of highway maintenance and repair techniques, as well as experience operating heavy equipment. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
