Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Summary:

Mazak is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing equipment, training customers, executing warranty repairs, and providing after-warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install machines and accessories at customer sites, including assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.
  • Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair.
  • Train customers on the functions of the machines.
  • Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available.
  • Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problems, repairs completed, and parts installed.
  • Travel is required, with assignments involving overnight or multiple-night stays.
  • Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting purposes, including indicators, test bars, clamp force, gauges, etc.

Requirements:

  • 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical, or machine tool assembly.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Field Service.
  • High School Diploma.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group while completing necessary tasks.
  • Ability to understand PLC, HYD/Pneumatic circuits, and general computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis and heavier lifting in excess of 50lbs on a periodic basis.
  • Ability to problem-solve depending on the situation.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Strong people skills.
