Atlantic Health System is looking for a dedicated and skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Specialist II to join our Electroneurodiagnostics Department. This full-time position involves varied hours, including rotating weekends, and requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather pertinent patient history and utilize this information to enhance testing procedures. Clearly explain testing processes to patients and their families, ensuring a respectful and safe environment.
  • Exhibit proficiency in the administration of medications related to EEG studies and demonstrate expertise in the 10-20 international electrode placement system.
  • Accurately apply electrodes and adeptly troubleshoot any artifacts or malfunctions during testing. Select suitable amplification settings and montages to obtain high-quality data.
  • Monitor patients throughout the testing process, working under the guidance of physicians who interpret the results.
  • Conduct EEGs, including routine, ambulatory, and sleep-deprived studies, for both adult and pediatric patients, ensuring the ability to record EEGs during medication administration.
  • Perform epilepsy monitoring and manage ongoing testing setups, maintaining skin integrity and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Conduct Evoked Potential testing and continuous ICU monitoring, ensuring accurate data collection and archiving.
  • Participate in Phase II Long Term Monitoring, including grid and strip planning, programming, and functional mapping.
  • Support MEG procedures under the supervision of experienced technologists, ensuring precise data collection.
  • Maintain all equipment with care, ensuring longevity and functionality.
  • Engage in professional communication with nursing staff, physicians, and colleagues, fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with relevant experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Program and a clinical internship is mandatory.
  • R. EEG T. (ABRET board registration in EEG) is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Electroneurodiagnostic technology is preferred.
