Role Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be integral in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with communication and language challenges. Collaborating with students, families, and educational professionals, you will develop and execute tailored treatment plans that enhance academic and social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Perform thorough assessments to identify communication and language issues. Develop and implement assessment tools, interpret findings, and establish appropriate diagnoses.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Design and execute individualized therapy strategies based on assessment outcomes. Deliver direct therapy services aimed at enhancing speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Collaborative Support: Partner with educators, parents, and other staff to address students' communication requirements. Provide training and resources to school personnel on effective strategies for classroom support.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessment results. Prepare necessary reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other educational planning discussions.
  • Engagement with Families: Effectively communicate with parents and guardians regarding their child's development, treatment objectives, and strategies to encourage speech and language growth at home.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest practices and advancements in speech-language pathology. Engage in professional growth opportunities and contribute to district-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Valid California State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children in an educational context is highly desirable. Proven expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for various communication disorders.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff. Familiarity with technology for documentation and teletherapy is advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to the varying needs of students. Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all learners.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
