Role Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be instrumental in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with communication and language challenges. Your collaboration with students, families, and educational personnel will be vital in creating and executing tailored treatment strategies that promote academic and social achievements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Perform thorough assessments to identify communication and language disorders. Administer and interpret evaluation tools to establish appropriate diagnoses.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Develop and execute personalized therapy plans derived from assessment outcomes. Deliver direct therapy services aimed at enhancing speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Collaborative Support: Partner with educators, parents, and other school staff to address students' communication requirements. Offer training and insights to staff on effective strategies for classroom support.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and evaluation findings. Prepare necessary reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other educational planning discussions.
  • Engagement with Families: Effectively communicate with parents and guardians about their child's progress, treatment objectives, and methods to foster speech and language development at home.
  • Continuous Professional Growth: Stay informed about the latest practices and advancements in speech-language pathology. Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to district-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with school-aged children in educational environments is highly desirable. Proven track record in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for various communication disorders.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong capacity to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff. Familiarity with technology for documentation and telepractice is advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to the varying needs of students. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
