Role Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be instrumental in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students facing communication and language challenges. Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and Diagnosis: Perform thorough assessments to identify communication and language impairments. Develop and implement evaluation protocols, interpret findings, and establish appropriate diagnoses.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Design and execute personalized therapy programs based on assessment outcomes. Deliver direct therapeutic services aimed at enhancing speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Collaborative Support: Engage with educators, parents, and school staff to address students' communication requirements. Provide training and support to school personnel on effective strategies for classroom integration.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessment results. Prepare necessary reports for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related educational meetings.
  • Parental Involvement: Effectively communicate with families regarding their child's development, treatment objectives, and methods to foster speech and language growth at home.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about advancements and best practices in speech-language pathology. Engage in professional development activities and contribute to broader district initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with school-aged children in educational environments is highly valued. Proven expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for various communication disorders.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong capacity to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff. Familiarity with technology for documentation and teletherapy is advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive educational atmosphere.
