Athletic Trainer

Governors State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to provide on-call services to our athletic teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering daily medical coverage, evaluating and documenting athletic injuries, and providing training and information for the prevention and recognition of common injuries and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Administer daily medical coverage for collegiate athletic teams, including practices and events.
- Travel with sports teams to provide care and support.
- Evaluate and document athletic injuries, providing timely and accurate reports.
- Provide training and information for the prevention and recognition of common injuries and illnesses within athletic populations.
- Administer preventive or rehabilitative treatment to athletes engaged in various university sports.
- Oversee the maintenance of athletic training facilities, including equipment and inventory management.
- Establish and maintain accurate records of athletes for eligibility purposes.
- Maintain a clean, effective, and efficient athletic training facility.
- Ensure timely and proper communication with appropriate parties.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, science, or a related field.
This is a temporary assignment that will end at the discretion of the department or when funding or hours are exhausted.
The hourly rate of pay is $50.00.
