Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Resource Nurse to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Clinical Expertise
    • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to our perioperative team, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care.
    • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of our operating rooms, ensuring that all cases are scheduled and completed efficiently.
    • Manage and coordinate the effective scheduling of surgery among our OR suites, collaborating with management and Centralized Scheduling.
  • Education and Training
    • Develop and implement educational programs for our perioperative staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
    • Provide ongoing training and support to our staff, ensuring that they are up-to-date on the latest clinical practices and technologies.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Develop and implement quality and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce complications.
    • Collaborate with our quality and safety team to identify and address any issues or concerns.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and implement financial management strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Collaborate with our finance team to identify and address any financial issues or concerns.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with our perioperative team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the perioperative process.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a perioperative setting.
  • Strong clinical and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
