We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning and Analysis Intern to join our team at SAS. As a key member of our FP&A team, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial planning and analysis processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting, including creating financial models and analyzing business performance against targets.
- Analyze financial data from various business units, providing insights and assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to support senior management decision-making.
- Support strategic planning by collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data, identify trends, and contribute to the strategic planning process.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects, such as cost analysis, pricing strategy reviews, and process improvements to streamline financial operations and reporting capabilities.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and basic financial modeling.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and key financial metrics.
- Available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time hours during the summer of 2025.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership abilities, with a proven track record of taking initiative and going above and beyond the call of duty.
- Previous internship or coursework experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, providing a foundational understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with financial software or ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, to enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI or Tableau, to help present financial data effectively.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations, such as GAAP, to ensure compliance in financial reporting.
