Job Summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a skilled Mental Health Specialist to provide psychotherapeutic interventions to student-athletes. As part of the Sports Medicine team, you will work collaboratively with staff to ensure comprehensive care.

About the Role

This position provides athletic counseling services for OSU Sports Medicine, focusing on diagnosis and treatment of patients, education, and collaboration with staff. The successful candidate will be competent in evidence-based clinical skills, cognitive, and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide psychotherapeutic interventions to assist student-athletes cope with mental health disorders, relationship problems, performance issues, and related concerns.
  • Identify present and potential psychosocial problems and implement plans for problem resolution.
  • Maintain quality documentation for medical records.
Requirements

A Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited graduate school is required. State of Ohio Social Work licensure (LSW or LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or equivalent education/experience is also necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including state pension, alternative options, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, wellness programming, paid vacation, sick time, parental leave, and 11 paid holidays.
