About the Role:

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly skilled Data Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our research projects. As a Data Manager, you will play a critical role in designing and maintaining study databases, ensuring data quality, and coordinating with project teams on matters related to data collection, extraction, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain study databases to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Develop and implement data checking and processing plans, database queries, and data collection strategies
  • Work closely with project managers and statistical analysts to translate project knowledge into actionable data plans
  • Collaborate with the Data Core team to develop and uphold best practices for programming and documentation
  • Serve as a point of contact for questions regarding data handling and compliance with university and funding organization requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in data or systems management, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Working knowledge of relational database design, query, and reporting
  • Experience in verifying, documenting, and cleaning large data files
  • Familiarity with data standards and coding conventions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, or SAS, with additional skills in STATA a plus
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications
