About the Role

The Clinical Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Department Director, plays a critical role in planning, organizing, and directing patient care on a daily operational basis in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. This position functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Accountability
    • Holds self and others accountable for exhibiting each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards.
    • Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel.
  • Change Management and Supervision
    • Identifies, leads, and embraces change.
    • Under the direction of the nurse manager/director, provides supervision of employees in their respective department/service area and partners with their supervisor to ensure 24-hour accountability.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with staff, other departments, and physicians.
    • Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures, and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence, or adverse outcome to colleagues and patients.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Graduate from a school of nursing; BSN required.
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
    • Minimum of two years' recent and relevant clinical experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
