About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Resident, a leading manufacturer of high-quality mattresses and home furnishings. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and uptime of our equipment, supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Complete accurate and detailed shop records and utilize reporting systems to track maintenance activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and calls from maintenance leadership and manufacturing operations teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Adhere to safe work methods and procedures to prevent injury to yourself and coworkers, as well as damage to company property, including the use of personal protective equipment and following safety protocols.
  • Perform welding and plumbing tasks as needed to support equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to proper housekeeping standards.
  • Operate motorized equipment, including scissor lifts, JLGs, fork trucks, and other vehicles, as required.
  • Utilize a wide range of powered tools and hand tools, as well as vibratory tools and equipment, to perform maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Certified Journeyman with 2+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical trades, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with 480V, 220V, 120V, and low-volt DC electrical controls and systems, as well as the ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and overtime, as required.
  • Ability to work with parts and equipment that may be hot, cold, or wet, and to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Technical certifications a plus.
  • PLC experience preferred, with understanding of PLC logic, minor editing, and programming changes.
  • Experience working with electrical diagrams, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
  • Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude, with ability to understand basic mechanical concepts and relationships.
  • Basic proficiency in Gmail, Excel (Google Sheets), and other computer skills.
Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician will work in a shop environment with possible exposure to extreme temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Personal Protective Equipment is provided and required.
