About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with close processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise and train lower-level accounting staff, including bookkeepers, to ensure efficient and accurate financial record-keeping.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
  • Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure prompt payment.
  • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency and use of accepted accounting procedures.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess the accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards of financial and operational information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred, but not required.
