Job Summary

Cathay Bank is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Relationship Banker II to join our team. As a key member of our banking team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • New Accounts
    • Process new account openings, including all aspects of account setup and maintenance.
    • Answer customer inquiries, provide financial solutions, and make recommendations to meet customer needs.
    • Perform customer service functions, such as check orders, change of address, and account maintenance changes.
    • Maintain confidentiality of customer information and bank proprietary information.
  • Sales & Service
    • Identify sales opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services, ensuring customers' financial goals are met.
    • Provide quality personalized customer service, maintain frequent customer contact, and expand relationships to ensure customer retention.
    • Maintain open communication with bank business partners and make referrals as appropriate.
    • Support branch new business promotions.
  • Operations
    • Process deposits and withdrawal transactions.
    • Reconcile and balance teller cash drawer.
    • Process outgoing wires.
    • Assist customers with problem resolution.
    • Assist in ATM balancing.
    • Detect and report fraudulent or suspicious activities.
    Qualifications
    • College degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred.
    • 1-2 years of cash handling, customer service, or sales experience required.
    • Minimum 1 year new accounts, sales experience, or relevant banking experience preferred.
    • Motivated to provide excellent customer service and help customers achieve their financial goals.
    • PC literate and typing proficient.
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
    • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
    • Ability to assess customer needs, provide solutions, and optimize sales opportunities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to give and receive feedback to improve skills and job knowledge.
    • Able to work weekends and extended hours as required.
    • Bilingual English/Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) preferred.
    • May obtain MLO status to originate mortgage loans.
