Rental Equipment Service Associate

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide exceptional service to rental clients in a courteous and professional manner, whether interacting face-to-face or via telephone.
Engage with customers to assess their rental requirements and suggest suitable equipment options, offering alternatives when necessary.
Facilitate the completion of rental agreements by gathering necessary customer information and securing signatures.
Clarify rental costs and deliver detailed information regarding the operation and safety features of the rented equipment.
Handle incoming calls and process orders efficiently.
Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise.
Coordinate the scheduling of equipment deliveries and pickups, assisting customers with loading and unloading as needed.
Conduct daily reviews of open contracts and follow up on overdue rentals.
Execute rental transactions using rental management software, performing essential tasks such as checking equipment availability, generating rental quotes, reserving items, managing rental contracts, scheduling deliveries/pickups, and communicating quotes/reservations/contracts to clients.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Maintain cleanliness of the showroom and equipment - Organize showroom displays - Ensure shelves are stocked and orderly.
Report any safety concerns to management.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulations as communicated.
Comply with governmental safety standards and other relevant regulations.
Participate in departmental, store, and safety meetings.
Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods is required.
This position involves regular interaction with the public.
Exposure to various chemicals may occur, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene, and cleaning agents.
Most tasks will be performed indoors with limited exposure to outdoor conditions.
Availability for some Saturday shifts may be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not mandatory.
Capability to lift and move items weighing approximately 50-70 lbs.
Strong customer service skills are essential.
Excellent telephone communication abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary.
Experience in the equipment rental sector is advantageous.
Familiarity with Point of Rental software is preferred.
Prior experience in roles such as inside sales representative, rental counter sales representative, auto parts sales representative, equipment dispatcher, truck dispatcher, construction foreman, or similar positions is desirable.
