Job Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct patient care and work in a dynamic environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of individualized care plans and participate in unit, service, and department enrichment activities.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess patients' biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs, and adjust priorities of care accordingly.
  2. Collect, document, and report data regarding patients' responses to treatments/therapies and teaching, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  3. Provide a broad range of treatments, including respiratory treatments, medication administration, and patient/caregiver teaching, and maintain accurate records of patient care.
  4. Participate in unit, service, and department enrichment activities to promote positive outcomes and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a state-accredited program of practical nurse education.
  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work Environment

This position works in a dynamic healthcare environment with a focus on providing high-quality patient care. The UNC Medical Center Float Pool is a staffing pool for outpatient and procedural areas, and the role requires flexibility and adaptability to work in various settings and with diverse patient populations.
