About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Critical Care Anesthesia Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $141,400 - $186,800 per year, based on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including state of North Carolina benefits, 40 hours of continuing education units (CEUs), and a generous vacation policy.

Job Description

As a Critical Care Anesthesia Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to anesthetize patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetrical, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures. You will work under the administrative guidelines of the Department of Surgical Services and under the medical direction of the attending anesthesiologists of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients pre-operatively in a timely and efficient manner, developing an anesthesia plan of care and documenting assessment and plan.
  • Contribute to performance improvement by evaluating problem areas, planning and implementing measures to assure improvement in patient outcomes.
  • Maintain anesthesia records, Impact Care reports, and other documents in a legible manner.
  • Provide anesthesia care, including administering anesthesia in accordance with the Department of Anesthesiology standards of care.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a completion of a Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist. A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina is also required.
