Radiology Department Support Specialist

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Department Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage radiology orders, images, and reports related to patient exams, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Fulfill requests from patients, physicians, and attorneys for radiology images and reports, maintaining confidentiality and security.
- Securely share patient images with external healthcare institutions, adhering to strict data protection protocols.
- Prepare studies for radiologist interpretation and presentation at clinical conferences, ensuring high-quality results.
- Support the over-read and discrepancies processes for overnight ED cases, providing critical assistance to our radiology team.
- Gather and prepare necessary information for PET and IR consults, facilitating efficient patient care.
- Prepare patient studies for upcoming OR surgeries, ensuring seamless coordination with our surgical teams.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to type 40 words per minute.
- Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in medical terminology.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security.
- Prior clerical experience in radiology or a hospital/medical office environment.
- Certificate of completion in a medical terminology course.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Weekend and On-Call RequirementsNo weekend or on-call requirements.
