As the Clinical Nutrition Team Leader, you will evaluate patients' dietary needs utilizing established assessment methodologies, oversee clinical nutrition operations, and provide mentorship to fellow professionals. Your role will involve guiding patients, families, and caregivers in developing tailored nutrition strategies aimed at improving health outcomes.

In this position, you will engage with patients experiencing complex health challenges (such as pediatric, bariatric, and ICU cases) requiring advanced skills in nutrition therapy. You will conduct thorough nutritional evaluations that consider age, gender, and cultural backgrounds. Regular screenings will be performed to identify individuals at nutritional risk, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care while maintaining a high standard of service for patients and their families.

Additionally, you will enhance your professional development by managing clinical nutrition administrative responsibilities and mentoring other dietitians and students in the essential functions and expectations of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate individualized nutrition intervention plans that specify feeding methods and dietary prescriptions tailored to each patient's unique requirements, in line with medical directives.
  • Assess and document patient responses to nutrition interventions, ensuring measurable goals are met and recorded accurately in the medical documentation.
  • Revise care plans as needed and maintain follow-up with patients to ensure ongoing support.
  • Assist in optimizing staffing levels to meet clinical demands while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead training and development initiatives for Clinical Dietitians I & II, as well as other relevant positions within the department.
  • Facilitate Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) training sessions for clinical staff, including nurses and physicians.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance the overall patient experience.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian II or four (4) years of experience in an acute care setting, working with complex patient populations.
  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).
  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • State licensure as a Dietitian in applicable states.
