Position Summary

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for executing a range of intricate economic assessments and planning functions to bolster corporate strategy and ensure the quality of capital expenditure justifications. This role involves providing comprehensive financial analysis support to departmental leaders and engaging in special projects, delivering essential financial data as required. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience, knowledge, and expertise in their field, demonstrating the ability to set their own work priorities while serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver data, analytics, and reporting to support the Xfinity Product Finance FP&A team in developing strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts utilizing advanced technical skills.
    • Leverage existing Comcast dashboards and query tools where applicable.
    • Conduct additional data analytics as necessary using advanced SQL techniques, including relational joins, temporary tables, data cleaning, and transformations.
    • Craft effective presentations of the data using appropriate tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau, ensuring clarity and engagement.
    • Design impactful Tableau dashboards with calculated fields and parameters, focusing on visual clarity and storytelling.
    • Ensure dashboards facilitate data discovery for stakeholders and provide user-friendly data download options.
    • Manage the team’s Tableau Server site, including job scheduling and user access permissions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing weekly and monthly reports, while creating new scheduled reports and ad hoc analyses as needed.

Product Finance Team Responsibilities
  • Assist in formulating strategic plans for ongoing, new, or proposed business operations.
  • Analyze cost and expense challenges and identify profit enhancement opportunities within current business activities.
  • Recommend improvements in analysis and budgeting methodologies, assessing the impact of various corporate initiatives.
  • Communicate weekly metrics, monthly outcomes, and quarterly and annual forecasts.
  • Conduct and evaluate economic justifications for capital expenditures.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with the ability to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
