Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Management Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating environmental management activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and developing and implementing effective environmental protection strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate environmental management activities, including monitoring and reporting on environmental compliance.
  • Develop and implement environmental protection strategies, including the development of environmental plans and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other relevant statutes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address environmental concerns and issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff members on environmental management and compliance issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, natural resources management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental management, including experience in supervising and coordinating environmental activities.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, including NEPA and other relevant statutes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex environmental issues and develop effective solutions.
