Contact Center Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Contact Center Representative to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our centralized contact center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients, families, and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Handle multi-channel requests in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, families, and clinical staff to schedule appointments, register patients, and handle medical requests.
- Interact with a diverse customer base to assist with questions, concerns, or problems, with a focus on first contact resolution and providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with patients, medical practices, and insurance companies to ensure timely authorizations and accurate demographic, financial, and clinical data.
- Utilize Epic to perform transactions, document, and route messages to the appropriate practice, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Respond to patient portal requests, educate patients on its use and benefits, and assist with locating primary care or specialty providers with referrals.
- Meet specific performance metrics of productivity and quality assurance, adhering to established workflows, scripting, and department call flow.
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, customer-facing, or call center environments.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong telephone presence and clear speaking voice.
- Outstanding work ethic, with strong adherence to shift schedules, including overtime and weekend work.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, with 1 year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant or assisting patients in any capacity.
- 2 years of experience in an inbound call center environment, with previous experience using Epic and knowledge of medical terminology, hospital systems, and insurance processes.
