Biomedical Engineer I

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Biomedical Engineer to join our team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In this role, you will apply your engineering knowledge to ensure the operational safety and reliability of our medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate mechanical devices using hand and power tools, as well as common machine tools.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including electrical safety testing on medical device systems and instruments.
- Work closely with engineers, clinicians, and research staff to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
- Maintain and lead assigned medical equipment and hardware, ensuring compliance with relevant safety codes and standards.
- Provide operational safety information and training to clinical staff on proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical, mechanical, or biomedical; computer science or related science field.
- Familiarity with CAD, CAM, design.
- Outstanding communication and self-awareness.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Adaptability and resilience to changing needs of research.
- Collaboration and building positive relationships.
Additional Information: This is a hybrid role, with 4 days a week onsite at our location in NYC. The pay range is $80,300.00-$128,400.00.
