Position Overview

As a key leader in our terminal operations, the Satellite Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient management of freight delivery and terminal activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all established health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other terminals to guarantee timely and efficient freight delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as the primary business owner and problem solver for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Oversee hazardous materials shipping to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work closely with repair and maintenance vendors to maintain fleet safety and operability.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Department to address customer needs and foster relationships with local clientele.
  • Engage with IT teams to enhance systems, design, and operational improvements.
  • Promptly report and investigate all incidents and accidents in line with company policy.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on departmental goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and make necessary adjustments.
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, train, coach, and manage terminal staff.
  • Oversee terminal budget management, financial objectives, and reporting.
  • Manage vendor relationships, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance programs.
  • Lead the terminal's capital budget process and equipment upkeep.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation.
  • A minimum of 7 years in the freight handling and consolidation sector, including 5 years in supervisory or management roles.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
