Position Overview

NIKA is seeking a Senior Electrician Supervisor to oversee the electrical operations and maintenance for our base operations support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Senior Electrician Supervisor will lead, assess, plan, and engage in the daily electrical operations, maintenance, repair, and construction of the base's electrical utility systems and facility distribution networks.
  • This role will act as the primary technical authority and supervisor for the electrical distribution systems within facilities and the base's electrical utility infrastructure.
  • Additionally, the supervisor will assist with construction initiatives to meet the base's requirements, including installing additional outlets, running new electrical lines, modernizing load banks and electrical panels, and updating variable frequency drives (VFDs) and process controls.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid State of Alaska Electrician Journeyman certification in accordance with Alaska State Statute 8 AAC.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of documented experience as an electrician, specifically in electrical distribution and power systems.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with utility systems, including building feed wire systems, transformers, and electrical connection boxes/meters.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VFDs, SCADA systems, process controls, and industrial equipment such as generators and boilers.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising personnel involved in monitoring, operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and best practices concerning electrical distribution and power systems.
  • Understanding of safety hazards and necessary precautions associated with electrical systems.
