We are seeking a Temporary Accounting Clerk to assist in the operations of the Business Office Division. This role is designed to provide support during a period of employee absence and will involve a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing complex and essential clerical accounting tasks, which include:
- Reviewing, preparing, processing, reconciling, and maintaining accounting records and reports.
- Monitoring and processing invoice payments and personal services contract payments.
- Possibly undertaking cashiering duties or leading in the execution of such tasks.
The duties of this position encompass:
- Preparation and processing of accounting documents utilizing the Financial Management System (FMS).
- Setting up, encumbering, and executing payments for various vendor invoices.
- Processing employee reimbursements and managing supply orders.
- Coordinating travel arrangements and payments.
- Reconciling petty cash funds and documenting all transactions using Microsoft Access.
- Scanning, photocopying, and filing payment requests and accounting documents.
- Maintaining inventory of essential supplies and preparing accounting files for retention.
- Performing data entry and generating various reports for management.
- Communicating with vendors and other departments, responding to inquiries, and delivering documents as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of one year of office clerical experience.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail and initiative in completing tasks.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Familiarity with personal computer operations.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
