Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Retail Operations Supervisor to oversee a high-volume retail unit, ensuring a superior customer experience while training and developing team members. This role is pivotal in cultivating a robust sales culture and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages collaboration and productivity.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, guiding team members through effective coaching.
  • Assign tasks and prioritize responsibilities among staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, leading productive meetings and keeping everyone informed.
  • Participate in the recruitment process and develop succession plans for the store.
  • Support team members in enhancing their performance through ongoing coaching.
  • Ensure all team members complete necessary training within designated timeframes.
  • Develop and manage efficient weekly schedules for both sales and support roles.

Customer Experience:

  • Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Implement the five core customer engagement principles: Greet, Engage, Build, Add-on, and Thank.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints related to service and sales.
  • Analyze customer feedback and surveys to improve service quality.
  • Evaluate promotional programs for effectiveness and provide insights to management.
  • Lead by example to maintain high standards of store operations.
  • Adjust operations based on customer traffic patterns.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure financial goals are met through strategic planning and resource management.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve or exceed financial targets.
  • Monitor loss prevention strategies to safeguard company assets.
  • Review financial documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Adjust staffing schedules to optimize labor costs.
  • Develop corrective action plans when financial trends indicate potential deficits.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure compliance with merchandising and pricing standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Execute merchandising initiatives and assess their impact.
  • Manage all forms of communication effectively.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering and receiving.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Engage in safety and loss prevention training sessions.
  • Enhance industry knowledge and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Establish daily operational tasks for the team.
  • Review promotional materials and implement them as necessary.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain required certifications and training for staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant governmental guidelines.
  • Follow company policies focused on social responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a retail setting.
  • Preferred one year of supervisory or management experience.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • TAP or Rserving Certification preferred.
  • First-Aid Certification is a plus.
  • Training in wine, beer, or spirits is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Availability for a flexible retail schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable with climbing ladders.

Workplace Safety:

  • Be aware of potential hazards such as theft and workplace injuries.
  • Understand the risks associated with lifting and handling materials.
  • Be vigilant about slips, trips, and falls.
  • Handle sharp objects and broken glass safely.
