Position Overview:

This role is integral to the management of our Northern Lights/Spenard location, where we prioritize convenience, variety, and exceptional service. The Operations Supervisor will assist in overseeing a significant business unit, focusing on enhancing the customer experience, understanding client needs, fostering a customer-centric culture, participating in inventory management and merchandising, and ensuring the store is fully stocked and prepared to meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Exemplify a customer-first approach, maintaining a friendly demeanor with all patrons.
  • Encourage a positive workplace culture that makes the store an enjoyable place for employees.
  • Serve as a role model, motivating and supporting fellow team members.
  • In the absence of management, assign tasks to team members and establish priorities.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, participating in meetings and sharing relevant information.
  • Guide team members while aligning with management goals.

Customer Engagement:

  • Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Implement the 5 Non-Negotiables: Greet, Engage, Build, Add-on, and Thank.
  • Welcome customers upon entry to the store.
  • Drive sales by educating and recommending products to every customer.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge through timely training completion.
  • Address customer complaints in the absence of management and ensure all issues are reported.
  • Assist customers with store services and provide transportation options when necessary.

Daily Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with merchandising and pricing standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Implement merchandising initiatives effectively.
  • Manage all forms of communication (mail, email, voicemail).
  • Oversee inventory levels and restocking processes.
  • Enhance product knowledge continuously.
  • Establish daily objectives for the store, including team meetings and sales tracking.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Understand the POS system and manage various transaction types.
  • Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper execution of opening and closing procedures.
  • Complete daily financial reports.
  • Secure cash deposits and ensure safes are locked at all times.
  • Aim to achieve daily sales targets.

Physical Requirements:

  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable with climbing ladders as needed.
