Role Summary:

The Speech, Hearing, and Language Specialist will operate under the guidance of the SELPA Director or their representative, focusing on providing assistance to students experiencing challenges with speech, hearing, and language. Key duties include the formulation, execution, and assessment of tailored educational plans, performing evaluations of students, offering guidance to educational staff and families, and actively engaging in IEP discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students facing speech, hearing, and language challenges
  • Design and execute individualized educational strategies
  • Conduct thorough assessments of student needs
  • Advise staff and parents on best practices
  • Engage in IEP meetings to discuss student progress

This full-time role comes with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with participation in the CalSTRS retirement plan.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Advanced coursework in speech and hearing sciences or a related discipline
  • Possession of a valid California Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential or equivalent
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Current CPR certification
