Pharmacist - Department of Public Health

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at the Department of Public Health. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of patient care and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Review, process, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions
- Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness, contraindications, interactions, adverse effects, and therapeutic/toxic dosing
- Communicate drug information and/or medication counseling to patients and healthcare personnel
- Perform quality assurance by conducting drug use evaluations and medication area inspections
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities and regulatory requirements
- Requires possession of a valid Registered Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy
- Must have six months of experience in an inpatient pharmacy obtained within the last five years
- Must have one year of pharmacy informatics experience, including integrating, supporting, and maintaining an Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Pharmacy Information System (PIS)
- Must be bilingual fluently in a variety of languages depending on the department's needs
Positions are located throughout the Department of Public Health, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center, San Francisco County Jails, and various clinics and Health Centers located throughout the City and County of San Francisco.
Some positions may require employees to work directly with individuals within locked jails and psychiatric facilities, the homeless population, substance use disorder, or individuals who may have or may be carriers of infectious/communicable diseases.
Evenings, nights, weekends, rotating, and/or holiday shifts may be required.
