Position Overview:

Based in Franklin, MA, the Quality Engineer III will be an integral part of our Chemical Analysis Division (CAD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on involvement in Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Conducting audits (Internal, External, Supplier).
  • Ownership of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and providing guidance to business partners.
  • Assisting in the development and oversight of Nonconformance reports.
  • Executing Complaint Investigations and analyzing trends.
  • Contributing to New Product Introduction teams by offering insights related to product quality and compliance as well as the quality management system.
  • Utilizing Thermo Fisher Scientific's PPI Business System to enhance efficiency and foster continuous improvement within the Quality department.
  • Actively participating in supplier qualification processes and monitoring supplier quality standards.

Qualifications for Success:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; advanced degree is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and areas of focus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Preferred training or certification in Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 standards is preferred.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification is a plus.
  • Must possess proactive problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of problem-solving methodologies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to navigate a manufacturing environment while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, including safety glasses and closed-toe steel-toed footwear.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 lbs without assistance.
