Are you passionate about quality and thrive in a dynamic setting? Our organization is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Supplier Quality Engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
About Our Company:
We are a premier tier one supplier in the automotive sector, focusing on the design and manufacturing of injection molded products and electronic components. Our facility in Ohio is equipped with advanced technology for mold design, production engineering, and a committed workforce in Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain production standards and ensure compliance with customer quality expectations by investigating and resolving quality issues in production and new model development.
- Utilize quality data collection and statistical methods to perform product audits, analyze defect trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
- Examine internal quality challenges related to production processes and equipment.
- Serve as a communication link between internal teams and external partners regarding quality matters.
- Establish and uphold quality standards through consistent monitoring and tracking.
- Prepare Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to address potential failure modes effectively.
- Participate in process audits to tackle specific issues such as production modifications and deviations from quality standards.
- Document and communicate product concerns to both customers and internal teams, including monthly performance tracking reports.
- Analyze performance reports to identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable plans.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure packaging trials meet established quality criteria.
- Mentor and train new engineers in a practical environment.
- Engineer III may also hold supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Office environment for four (4) hours daily.
- Manufacturing environment for four (4) hours daily.
- Occasional travel may be necessary for essential functions or training.
- Overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
Potential Hazards:
This position may involve exposure to:
- Chemicals, noise, and heat.
- Moving mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise levels, with specific areas requiring hearing protection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Engineer II: 3-6 years; Engineer III: 4-7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in quality functions within the automotive supply industry.
- Preferred experience in Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing.
- Proficient in quality tools such as FMEA, capability studies, and GD&T.
- Experience with plastic injection molding processes and process enhancements is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of ISO 9000 and AIAG standards.
