HVAC Instructor

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled HVAC Teacher to provide effective Career and Technical Education Instruction in the assigned trade area. The successful candidate will assist students in completing required competencies, demonstrate effective classroom or lab management, and ensure compliance with safety management protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality instruction in HVAC trade area
- Assist students in completing required competencies
- Demonstrate effective classroom or lab management
- Ensure compliance with safety management protocols
- Maintain accurate and current student records
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least two years' full-time or 2000 hours of verifiable experience in the relevant field/trade area
- Knowledge of all phases of the trade area
- Ability to supervise adult students in a classroom/lab environment
- Eligibility for a Journeyman or Master Electrician License or a Technical Professional License in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning or Technical Professional License in the relevant trade area/field issued by DPOR
- Eligibility for a teaching certificate by the Department of Education
- Five years of experience in the related trade/field
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License or a Technical Professional License in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning or Technical Professional License in the relevant trade area/field issued by DPOR
- Teaching certificate by the Department of Education
- Knowledge of correctional education classroom management
- Ability to facilitate other instructors
