The City of Florissant is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team. As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Police Department, performing a variety of routine and complex clerical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Police Department, including preparing and monitoring work orders, acting as custodian of departmental documents and records, and establishing and maintaining filing systems.
- Clerical Duties: Perform routine clerical and administrative work, including answering phones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, cashiering, data processing, and bookkeeping.
- Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain inventories and orders office supplies and materials, and maintain departmental personnel records.
- Communication: Receive and respond to inquiries from employees, citizens, and others, and refer, when necessary, to appropriate persons.
- Special Projects: Complete special projects either alone or as part of a work team, and prepare presentations for self and/or other department personnel.
- Financial Management: Approve invoices for payment under the supervision of immediate supervisor, and prepare payroll and assure for accuracy.
- Record Keeping: Prepare records such as notices, minutes, and resolutions, and maintain all budget accounts and track budget expenditures.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized coursework in general office practices, and at least two years of progressively responsible experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license required.
