Job Overview

The Department of Justice is seeking a highly skilled and organized Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our Legal Support Operations, you will provide exceptional administrative support to our secretarial team(s), ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

About the Role

This position involves performing a wide range of clerical and administrative duties, including proficient typing, editing, storing, retrieving, printing, processing, faxing, and electronically sending correspondence using various department-supported software. You will also establish and maintain an efficient filing system, maintain a professional work area, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the secretarial team(s) and ensure the smooth operation of the office
  • Perform various clerical and administrative duties, including typing, editing, and filing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files
  • Assist with mail processing and respond to incoming phone calls
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to type at a minimum speed of 40 wpm
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Fingerprint check required
Salary and Benefits

$52,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
