Job Title: Director of Planning and Procurement

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planning and Procurement to join our team. As a key member of the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment, you will be responsible for managing long-term master plans, developing project business cases, and overseeing the procurement of services and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the Bureau's infrastructure projects
  • Manage the procurement process for services and materials, ensuring compliance with City regulations and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize infrastructure needs and develop solutions to address them
  • Lead the development of performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the Bureau's success
  • Provide leadership and management for programs, projects, and initiatives, facilitating team efforts and helping to define goals, timelines, and resource requirements

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of full-time experience in city planning, with at least eighteen (18) months in a managerial capacity
  • Advanced degree in city planning or a related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of non-managerial experience
  • Graduation from an accredited United States Law School may be substituted for two (2) years of non-managerial experience
