As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Inner City Foundation, you will be instrumental in sourcing, engaging, and securing exceptional educators and staff who resonate with our mission and core values. Working closely with the Director of Operations and the HR Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will ensure that Inner City Foundation fosters professional development for all team members, attracts and retains top talent, and maintains a competitive edge in the education sector.
Direct Supervisor: HR Manager
Salary: $80,000
Employment Type: Full-time
- Build and nurture partnerships with colleges, universities, and credentialing programs to attract premier talent to Inner City Foundation.
- Engage in recruitment and selection activities, including both in-person and virtual recruitment events and interviews.
- Provide comprehensive, accurate, and compelling information to candidates regarding employment opportunities at Inner City Foundation.
- Co-manage a seamless hiring process, from recruitment to onboarding.
- Travel between locations to facilitate candidate tours, onboarding, and provide support to candidates and employees.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to enhance Inner City Foundation's social media presence.
- Innovate and refine systems and strategies for attracting, selecting, and hiring diverse, high-caliber team members.
- Regularly update and maintain job postings on the organization's website and recruitment platforms.
- Conduct resume screenings, phone interviews, and reference checks to assess candidates' alignment with Inner City Foundation's mission.
- Work alongside site leadership to ensure a thorough onboarding experience for new hires.
- Utilize and continuously enhance our applicant tracking system to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency.
- In partnership with the HR Manager, establish and monitor goals related to recruitment, hiring, retention, diversity, leadership development, and internal advancement.
- Ensure that all instructional staff credentials comply with state regulations.
- Enhance existing systems and strategies to support educators in fulfilling credential requirements.
- Verify the credentialing requirements of all relevant employees, assisting staff in obtaining and clearing credentials as necessary.
- Complete all required processes for securing emergency and other instructional credentials.
- Conduct regular audits of teacher assignments and validate credentials.
- Advise the Director of Operations, HR Manager, and educational leaders of any potential credential deficiencies and upcoming renewal needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with leadership to accurately assess hiring needs.
- Collaborate with executive staff to draft and update job descriptions, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
- Assist in researching and evaluating enhancements to our compensation systems.
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with regulations, benefits, and credentialing.
- Understand public laws, policies, and procedures relevant to leaves, credentials, and the State Teacher Retirement System (STRS).
- Work with the HR team to ensure adherence to applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred; a Bachelor's degree is ideal. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in talent acquisition or Human Resources.
- Familiarity with commonly used strategies, concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
- Exceptional attention to detail in managing projects and tasks.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.
- A commitment to professional growth, openness to coaching and feedback.
- Dedication to ethical standards and accuracy in professional practices.
- Exhibit a positive attitude focused on both individual and team success.
- Strong presentation and written/oral communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a start-up environment; comfortable with ambiguity.
- Valid California Driver's License.
