Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to investigate T cell immunity in the context of tuberculosis.

Scientific Responsibilities:

Our diverse research team combines expertise in immunology, chemical biology, molecular microbiology, and bioinformatics to identify novel metabolites and lipid compounds that can activate T cells for combating infections and cancers.

Current research initiatives include:
(i) isolating metabolites from Mycobacterium tuberculosis to stimulate T cell activity,
(ii) identifying T cell clones that provide protective immunity against tuberculosis,
(iii) analyzing distinct metabolite antigen presentation mechanisms in bacterial infections, and
(iv) discovering both mammalian and microbial metabolites that serve as T cell antigens or protein ligands to modulate immune responses in infections, cancers, and inflammatory conditions.


Key Duties:

o Formulate and refine hypotheses based on literature and experimental findings.

o Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses and troubleshoot any issues encountered.

o Summarize the rationale, hypotheses, experimental design, results, conclusions, and future directions for presentations to lab members and collaborators.

o Prepare abstracts, develop posters/talks, and write manuscripts for scientific conferences and journal submissions.

o Maintain thorough and accurate experimental documentation.

o Develop grant writing capabilities; participation in the preparation of grant and contract applications may be necessary.

o Engage in seminars and scientific meetings relevant to the research fields.

o Collaborate effectively with fellow lab members and colleagues.

o Undertake additional relevant tasks to advance research projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

o A Research Scientist with a Ph.D. in immunology, complemented by substantial experience in microbiology and/or chemical biology.


o Focused on investigating T cell responses and metabolite interventions in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections through in vitro and animal studies.

o Eager to learn and explore new scientific domains, including chemical biology and structural analyses for identifying bioactive compounds.

o Highly driven individuals with a strong desire to contribute significantly to scientific advancements.

o Willingness to collaborate with lab members and colleagues.

o Possessing the necessary knowledge and skills for the role.
