Position Overview

The research will be conducted within the Disease Intervention & Prevention sector at Texas Biomedical Research Institute, a premier non-profit institution specializing in infectious disease research with high containment capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute controlled experiments independently, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Achieve research objectives with minimal supervision, showcasing a high degree of autonomy.
  • Analyze molecular data related to viral replication, immune responses, and pathogenesis.
  • Present research findings to the scientific community through publications and conference presentations.
  • Stay informed on the latest scientific literature and actively participate in collaborative discussions.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, fostering a collaborative research environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or Cell Biology with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for solving complex scientific challenges.
  • Proficient in fundamental virology techniques, including cell culture, virus propagation, and animal models.
  • At least two years of practical experience working with animal models is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven publication record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
