The research will be conducted within the Disease Intervention & Prevention sector at Texas Biomedical Research Institute, a premier non-profit institution specializing in infectious disease research with high containment capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute controlled experiments independently, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills.
- Achieve research objectives with minimal supervision, showcasing a high degree of autonomy.
- Analyze molecular data related to viral replication, immune responses, and pathogenesis.
- Present research findings to the scientific community through publications and conference presentations.
- Stay informed on the latest scientific literature and actively participate in collaborative discussions.
- Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, fostering a collaborative research environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology, or Cell Biology with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for solving complex scientific challenges.
- Proficient in fundamental virology techniques, including cell culture, virus propagation, and animal models.
- At least two years of practical experience working with animal models is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and a proven publication record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
